Red cultural heritage is an important part of domestic cultural heritage, and its protection and utilization have era value and important significance for the inheritance of red culture and rural revitalization. Based on the CNKI literature database and CiteSpace visualization software, the research progress of red cultural heritage protection and utilization is visualized and analyzed. The research findings are as follows: (1) At present, the research on red cultural heritage is in the exploratory phase, and there are no fixed academic schools, few academic achievements, and few cooperation and exchanges between authors and institutions. (2) The research on the protection and utilization of red cultural heritage mainly focuses on the research on value mining, protection methods, development and utilization, and education inheritance. (3) Future research on the protection and utilization of red cultural heritage can promote discipline exchange and strengthen the comprehensive utilization strategy; Integrate heritage resources and establish a special heritage protection plan; Promote value transformation and help the rural revitalization of the old revolutionary base areas. By summarizing and analyzing the research progress and shortcomings of the protection and utilization of red cultural heritage in China, this paper puts forward the development trend of key research contents in the future and provides some reference for subsequent research in this field.
