The public’s participation in the transformation of small and micro spaces in the community will help to enhance the community residents’ sense of identity, belonging, and happiness, and shape the vitality of the area. This paper takes the “Ring of Life” community micro space renovation of Jinqiao Times Home as an example to discuss the implementation path of public participation in the community micro space renovation. The renewal design of the “Ring of Life” community space, from the perspective of grass-roots social governance and participatory design, aims to create a community public space that is all age friendly and participatory and adopts a combination of community building and public participation to finally form a public participation path for the renewal of small and micro spaces. In the project implementation process, we should give space to the administration of party building, practice green, and low-carbon concepts, and create a sustainable implementation path that could be duplicated and coordinated by all parties.
