Abstract:In the process of urbanization, road greening beautifies the urban environment and plays a particular role in constructing an urban ecological pattern. Presently, citizens are widely concerned about urban road greening construction and management, and the problems it faces are becoming more and more prominent. Through a series of theoretical studies, the paper explores the application of natural configuration mode in road space under the principles of safety priority, scientific and reasonable designs, coordination and unity, and natural moderation. It proposes three natural configuration modes suitable for urban road greening: cluster, flower border, and combination. It offers suggestions for each mode from the function of road greening, scale, users, and other aspects. Finally, suitable models are applied to reconstruct and renew the greening landscape in Guangzhong Road, Jing ‘a District, Shanghai. The project aims to provide a reference for future urban road greening construction or reconstruction by combining theory with practice.
