Abstract:The FourC Challenge 24-hour global design challenge held by the School of Design at Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2020, advocates cross-integration design thinking to realize the design integration among interdisciplinary and cross-cultural fields, as well as promote design reform in a new era. Inspired by the multidisciplinary design competition and corresponding to the design education needs along with social development, we analyze the requirements for the education of a Master of Landscape Architecture in a new era: we should develop talents with global vision and international design thinking, general design ability and interdisciplinary design ability. Taking the Master of Landscape Architecture (International) project at Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an example, this paper discusses the running objectives and ways of being “self-centered”, the construction of an integrated curriculum system, the diversified and comprehensive graduation evaluation system, and the integration and innovation reform of teaching team.
