Abstract:n recent years, the protection and management mode of campus heritage has gradually changed from the “single protection” of historical buildings focusing on “points” and neglecting “areas” and progressively paid attention to building groups and the overall historical features of the campus, but the broad protection, planning, and management of campus heritage system within the region are lacking. In order to avoid fragmented security, it is vital to carry out the overall protection planning of campus heritage based on the overall distribution pattern and value analysis of campus heritage so as to thoroughly and systematically show the achievements of forging ahead, reform, and development of modern Chinese education. Taking Shanghai as an example, through the way of space humanities, from the perspective of temporal and spatial differentiation, the distribution characteristics of campus heritage in modern Shanghai are horizontally related to the macro-historical process of the city for a long time. Then, the formation, development, and evolution of campus heritage are interpreted in detail, the value level of heritage in the whole space is analyzed, the overall protection planning and management strategy of Shanghai’s modern campus heritage system is discussed, and the effective path to realizing the overall protection of campus cultural landscape heritage is explored.
